For your convenience, this item requires x3 AA batteries if not using the USB cable. Please note that batteries are not included, so be sure to have some on hand. Beautiful lamp for a young child. Lots of colour options and a good strong light. The only thing I was disappointed with was how it was packaged. It was a gift and it only came in the postage box so I had to go and get a giftbox separately for it after it arrived.
